An attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv has provided Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a new security message ahead of a crucial parliamentary election. Netanyahu quickly framed the incident, where a co-pilot reportedly attacked the captain, as a consequence of propaganda against Israel. “It’s probably too early to say how this will pan out politically,” said former Israeli government adviser Daniel Levy, speaking to Al Jazeera.
