Wicketkeeper-batsman Abhishek Porel, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has been included in the senior Bengal men's team for practice matches against Assam. Porel was arrested on serious charges of rape and criminal intimidation. He spent approximately four weeks in judicial custody before being granted bail. CAB decided to include him in the squad to regain match fitness, citing the need for an experienced wicketkeeper for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
