NSUI Women Workers Booked After Alleging Police Assault During Protest

Delhi Police have registered an FIR against NSUI women workers following a protest demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. The workers had previously held a press conference with Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Delhi Police of assault and mistreatment. NSUI activist Ritu Barala alleged that police personnel manhandled them, pulled their hair, and assaulted them physically. Police sources, however, state the FIR is due to alleged misbehavior by the NSUI workers during the protest and inside a bus. Rahul Gandhi had praised Barala as a 'lioness' for her bravery.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन के बाद NSUI की महिला कार्यकर्ताओं के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज की है। कार्यकर्ताओं ने पहले राहुल गांधी के साथ एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस की थी, जिसमें उन्होंने दिल्ली पुलिस पर मारपीट और दुर्व्यवहार का आरोप लगाया था। NSUI कार्यकर्ता रितु बराला ने आरोप लगाया कि पुलिसकर्मियों ने उनके साथ हाथापाई की, बाल खींचे और शारीरिक रूप से मारपीट की। हालांकि, पुलिस सूत्रों का कहना है कि FIR विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान और बस के अंदर NSUI कार्यकर्ताओं के कथित दुर्व्यवहार के कारण दर्ज की गई है। राहुल गांधी ने बराला की बहादुरी के लिए उन्हें 'शेरनी' कहकर सराहा था।
