PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has urged the Tamil Nadu government to construct the new Secretariat complex outside Chennai, as proposed by his party. He expressed concern over reports suggesting the Secretariat might be built at Pallavan Illam on Anna Salai, citing severe traffic congestion issues. Ramadoss argued that the Pallavan Illam site, measuring 13.22 acres, is significantly smaller than the previously considered Pattinapakkam site. He emphasized that building the Secretariat at Pallavan Illam would exacerbate traffic problems on Anna Salai, a major city road.
