FIIs Exit Indian Stocks, Erasing 9 Years of Investment Amidst $64 Billion Sell-off

TV9 Hindi · stocks

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have reversed nine years of buying in Indian equities, leading to a net equity outflow of approximately $110 million since October 2015. A sell-off of $63.6 billion since October 2024 has wiped out the $63.5 billion invested over the preceding nine years. In 2026, foreign investors divested $32.8 billion from Indian equities year-to-date, following a $18.9 billion outflow in 2025. This significant withdrawal is attributed to rising US Treasury yields, a stronger dollar, high oil prices, and concerns over India's returns.
