Journalist and activist Prabir Purkayastha stated that people's sense of their vote, voice, and democracy is not easily taken away. Speaking at a seminar on 'Political persecution by Central agencies' in Thiruvananthapuram, he argued that the BJP-led government is alienating itself by using agencies to further its goals. Purkayastha, founder of Newsclick, shared his experience of jail time under UAPA and PMLA, noting these laws are used to prevent normal activities.
