Thousands of commuters faced a nightmare on Sunday as a massive traffic jam formed on the Delhi-bound carriageway of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway at the Sirhaul border. Vehicles were stranded for hours, with queues stretching for kilometres due to heightened police deployment and vehicle checks. The checks were implemented ahead of Delhi's new anti-pollution vehicle restrictions starting November 1. The chaos coincided with Rahul Gandhi's 'Chalo Delhi' rally, which also saw rally supporters' buses caught in the congestion. Authorities stated the drive aimed to ensure compliance with new pollution norms.

रविवार को दिल्ली-गुरुग्राम एक्सप्रेसवे पर सिरहौल बॉर्डर पर दिल्ली की ओर जाने वाले रास्ते पर भारी ट्रैफिक जाम लगने से हजारों यात्रियों को परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा। दिल्ली में 1 नवंबर से लागू होने वाले नए प्रदूषण रोधी वाहन प्रतिबंधों से पहले पुलिस की भारी तैनाती और वाहनों की जांच के कारण गाड़ियां घंटों तक फंसी रहीं और कतारें किलोमीटरों तक फैल गईं। यह अव्यवस्था राहुल गांधी की 'चलो दिल्ली' रैली के साथ हुई, जिसमें रैली समर्थकों की बसें भी जाम में फंस गईं। अधिकारियों ने कहा कि यह अभियान नए प्रदूषण नियमों का पालन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए था।
