Immigration lawyer Gnanamookan Senthurjothi has cautioned Indian H-1B visa applicants against altering or backdating any documents submitted for administrative processing. Consular posts are requesting updated employment verification letters and social media profiles from applicants. Senthurjothi stressed that misrepresenting information, such as submitting a false letter for a job no longer available, can jeopardize future US immigration prospects. He advised applicants to verify their employment status, preserve records, and seek legal counsel if their job situation has changed, emphasizing that willful misrepresentation can lead to inadmissibility.
