UPI MDR Charge Postponed By Government Amidst Festive Shopping Season

The government has postponed the implementation of MDR charges on UPI transactions. Originally slated to take effect, the new rule will now be applied after Diwali. This decision comes after concerns were raised by the NPCI and the Finance Ministry. The postponement provides relief to shopkeepers during the crucial festive shopping period, allowing them to continue digital transactions without additional charges for now.

सरकार ने यूपीआई लेनदेन पर एमडीआर शुल्क के कार्यान्वयन को स्थगित कर दिया है। मूल रूप से लागू होने वाला नया नियम अब दिवाली के बाद लागू होगा। यह निर्णय एनपीसीआई और वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा चिंता जताए जाने के बाद आया है। इस स्थगन से महत्वपूर्ण त्योहारी खरीदारी अवधि के दौरान दुकानदारों को राहत मिलती है, जिससे वे फिलहाल बिना किसी अतिरिक्त शुल्क के डिजिटल लेनदेन जारी रख सकेंगे।
