Karnataka Govt Challenges SIT Probe Order

The Karnataka government has approached the Supreme Court to challenge a High Court order mandating an SIT probe into alleged KPSC job scams. The High Court had ordered the SIT to investigate recruitment irregularities for 50 industrial extension officers and 400 veterinary officers. The state argues that a new probe by the SIT could jeopardize evidence already gathered by the state CID, including seized documents and arrested individuals. The government also questioned the High Court's selection of police officers for the SIT without consultation.

कर्नाटक सरकार ने KPSC नौकरी घोटाले के आरोपों की SIT जांच के हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती दी है। हाई कोर्ट ने 50 औद्योगिक विस्तार अधिकारियों और 400 पशु चिकित्सा अधिकारियों की भर्ती अनियमितताओं की जांच के लिए SIT का आदेश दिया था। राज्य का तर्क है कि SIT द्वारा नई जांच से राज्य CID द्वारा पहले से एकत्र किए गए सबूत, जिसमें जब्त किए गए दस्तावेज और गिरफ्तार किए गए व्यक्ति शामिल हैं, खतरे में पड़ सकते हैं। सरकार ने हाई कोर्ट द्वारा बिना सलाह-मशविरे के SIT के लिए पुलिस अधिकारियों के चयन पर भी सवाल उठाया है।
