The Road Transport Ministry has proposed introducing separate colour schemes for driving licences issued to Indian citizens and foreign nationals. This move aims to differentiate between the two groups. Additionally, the ministry is considering raising the passing threshold for safe-driving tutorial assessments from 60% to 75%. The draft amendments also suggest accepting affidavits and life insurance policies as proof of age and address to prevent misuse. The proposed changes are part of efforts to tighten assessment requirements for driving licences.
