India-Switzerland FTA Aims For $100 Billion Investment In 15 Years

India and Switzerland have signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to boost cooperation in trade, investment, defence, and technology. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement is the first FTA between India and a European economic bloc. This agreement aims to attract $100 billion in investment and create 10 lakh jobs in India over the next 15 years. Both nations also agreed to strengthen collaboration in nuclear energy and explore new defence production possibilities.

भारत और स्विट्जरलैंड ने व्यापार, निवेश, रक्षा और प्रौद्योगिकी में सहयोग बढ़ाने के लिए कई समझौता ज्ञापनों (MoUs) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि भारत-ईएफटीए व्यापार और आर्थिक साझेदारी समझौता भारत और एक यूरोपीय आर्थिक गुट के बीच पहला एफटीए है। इस समझौते का लक्ष्य अगले 15 वर्षों में भारत में 100 अरब डॉलर का निवेश आकर्षित करना और 10 लाख नौकरियां पैदा करना है। दोनों देशों ने परमाणु ऊर्जा में सहयोग मजबूत करने और नई रक्षा उत्पादन संभावनाओं का पता लगाने पर भी सहमति व्यक्त की।
