पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने गोहत्या के खिलाफ कड़ी चेतावनी दी है। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसी घटनाएं होने पर वे कड़ी कार्रवाई करेंगे। उन्होंने सीमावर्ती इलाकों में अवैध मदरसों को बंद करने का भी आह्वान किया ताकि राष्ट्र-विरोधी गतिविधियों को रोका जा सके। अधिकारी ने बांग्लादेश में अवैध घुसपैठियों को निर्वासित करने और सीएए के तहत हिंदू शरणार्थियों को नागरिकता देने की अपनी सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। उन्होंने शरणार्थियों से नागरिकता के लिए तुरंत आवेदन करने का आग्रह किया, यह आश्वासन देते हुए कि उन्हें जेल नहीं जाना पड़ेगा।
