The Indian Navy is enhancing its capabilities across air, sea, AI, and quantum technology to become a comprehensive network force. Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar stated the Navy is exploring directed-energy weapons as a cost-effective solution against drones, similar to recent DRDO trials. The force has 42 platforms on order and 78 more with an estimated value of ₹2.41 lakh crore in procurement. RFPs have been issued for four Landing Platform Docks and next-generation frigates, with the Navy hosting Swavlamban 2026 to foster indigenous innovation.
