Uttarakhand Loses 11 Lakh Voters; Rajpur Road Now Has Fewer Electors Than Kedarnath

Times of India · politics

An analysis of State Election Commission data reveals Uttarakhand's electorate has shrunk by approximately 11 lakh voters, a 13.4% decrease since the 2022 assembly elections. Rajpur Road constituency in Dehradun now has fewer electors than the Himalayan seats of Kedarnath and Badrinath, a significant reversal from 2022. The state's total electorate has fallen from 82.6 lakh to about 71.5 lakh following a Special Intensive Revision. This substantial reduction, particularly in Dehradun district, raises concerns about the voter base ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
