Punjab CMO Corruption Allegations: High Court Hands Probe to CBI

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has transferred the investigation into alleged corruption within the CMO to the CBI. ED had previously written to the Punjab DGP, alleging large-scale corruption in government functions, including transfers and postings, and had named the CM's OSD, Rajbir Ghumman. Following inaction by the Punjab Police, a public interest litigation was filed, leading the High Court to order the CBI to submit its report within two months.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने सीएमओ में कथित भ्रष्टाचार की जांच सीबीआई को सौंप दी है। ईडी ने पहले पंजाब के डीजीपी को पत्र लिखकर सरकारी कामकाज में बड़े पैमाने पर भ्रष्टाचार का आरोप लगाया था, जिसमें तबादलों और पोस्टिंग का भी जिक्र था, और सीएम के ओएसडी राजबीर घुम्मन का नाम लिया था। पंजाब पुलिस की ओर से कार्रवाई न होने पर एक जनहित याचिका दायर की गई थी, जिसके बाद हाई कोर्ट ने सीबीआई को दो महीने के भीतर अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपने का आदेश दिया है।
