Tata Group stocks, including TCS and Tata Chemicals, saw significant drops of up to 8% on Friday. This decline followed Tata Trusts labelling the reappointment of Chairman N Chandrasekaran for another five-year term as illegal. Noel Tata, chairman of Tata Trusts, was the sole director to vote against the resolution. The Trusts cited provisions in Tata Sons' Articles of Association, deeming the reappointment a legal nullity, despite Tata Sons' majority decision to extend Chandrasekaran's tenure.
