एक कंज्यूमर कोर्ट ने एक इंश्योरेंस कंपनी को कैंसर के मरीज को ₹1.65 लाख देने का आदेश दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि इस बात का कोई सबूत नहीं है कि शराब या सिगरेट पीने से मरीज बीमार हुआ। मरीज ने क्लेम रिजेक्ट होने पर शिकायत की थी। कोर्ट ने जोर दिया कि इंश्योरेंस पॉलिसी को बिना ठोस सबूत के रिजेक्ट नहीं करना चाहिए, जो लाइफस्टाइल और बीमारी के बीच सीधा संबंध बताएं।
