India's Hypersonic Missile Range to Extend to 3500 KM, Challenging China and Pakistan

DRDO is significantly enhancing the capabilities of its indigenous Long Range Anti-Ship Hypersonic Missile (LR-ASHM). Currently capable of a 1500 KM range, DRDO plans to extend this to 3500 KM through software upgrades and new trajectory profiles. Following successful tests, the missile could enter production by 2028-29. This upgrade will bolster India's maritime denial capabilities in the Indian Ocean region, allowing it to target enemy warships and aircraft carrier groups far from the coast.
