A search is ongoing for Vidyadharan, a 68-year-old auto-rickshaw driver who was swept away after his vehicle plunged into a waterlogged canal in Vembayam a day ago. Fire and Rescue Services personnel, along with scuba diving teams and local residents, are conducting an extensive operation. Vidyadharan and his wife were returning from a wedding when heavy rainfall caused the canal to overflow, making the road indistinguishable from the waterway. While his wife was rescued by locals, Vidyadharan was carried away by the strong current.
