Times of India · education

ABVP, the student wing of the RSS, is making its first foray into Presidency University in Kolkata. The university's ABVP unit has organized a seminar to commemorate the 150th anniversary of India's National Song, 'Vande Mataram'. RSS eastern India prachar pramukh Jisnu Basu is among the invitees for the event. ABVP aims to reclaim the campus, which they consider a 'crucible of nationalism' due to its association with figures like Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
