MIT Robot Mimics Bird Flight, Dive, Takeoff

Engineers from MIT and EPFL have created the Flapping-wing Aerial-aquatic Vehicle (FAAV), a 300-gram robot. This groundbreaking machine is the first of its kind to successfully mimic a diving bird's full cycle of swimming, diving underwater, and launching back into the air using only its wings. Unlike previous designs, it doesn't rely on separate propellers or legs for these transitions.
