Tamil Nadu has revised its GST valuation and compliance rules for tobacco, pan masala, and online gaming to prevent revenue leakage and boost tax collections. The government will now link the taxable value of specified tobacco and pan masala products to their declared retail sale price, using the highest price if multiple are listed. For online gaming, the taxable value will encompass the entire player deposit, including virtual assets, with no deductions for refunds.
