Delhi Air Quality Turns 'Severe' Amidst Rising Farm Fires

Hindustan Times · environment

Delhi's air quality has deteriorated to the 'severe' category, the worst on the government's pollution scale, according to an analysis of Central Pollution Control Board data. This deterioration occurred on the same 39 monitoring stations used last Diwali, with hourly readings showing significantly higher pollution levels than the official 24-hour average. PM2.5 levels exceeded India's daily limit by more than five times, posing health risks to all individuals.
