A Kho-Kho World Cup-winning player from Jammu and Kashmir has expressed her disappointment over not receiving her promised prize money of ₹40,000 even after more than a year. The Jammu and Kashmir government had announced the reward following the 2025 World Cup victory. The 23-year-old player highlighted that her teammates from other states received much larger sums, including crores, while her promised amount remains unpaid. She feels this treatment is demeaning and impacts her ability to afford essential sports facilities and pursue higher education.

जम्मू और कश्मीर की खो-खो विश्व कप विजेता खिलाड़ी ने एक साल से ज़्यादा समय बीत जाने के बाद भी ₹40,000 की इनामी राशि न मिलने पर निराशा जताई है। जम्मू और कश्मीर सरकार ने 2025 विश्व कप जीतने के बाद यह इनाम देने का ऐलान किया था। 23 वर्षीय खिलाड़ी ने बताया कि दूसरे राज्यों के उनके साथियों को करोड़ों रुपये मिले, जबकि उनका वादा किया गया पैसा अब तक नहीं मिला है। उन्हें लगता है कि यह बर्ताव अपमानजनक है और इससे ज़रूरी खेल सुविधाओं का खर्च उठाना और आगे की पढ़ाई करना मुश्किल हो रहा है।
