Lawyers Protest for Stronger Protection Act Amid Rising Attacks

Members of the Gulbarga Bar Association protested outside the Deputy Commissioner's office in Kalaburagi, demanding stronger measures against assaults, harassment, and murder of advocates. They submitted a memorandum urging the government to strengthen the Advocates Protection Act due to increasing attacks and threats. The lawyers highlighted that inadequate security hinders their professional duties. They called for making attacks on advocates non-bailable offences with stringent penalties and establishing special courts for speedy trials. The association also requested metal detectors and CCTV cameras in all court premises to enhance safety.

गुलबर्गा बार एसोसिएशन के सदस्यों ने वकीलों पर हमलों, उत्पीड़न और हत्या के खिलाफ मजबूत उपायों की मांग को लेकर कलाबुरगी में उपायुक्त कार्यालय के बाहर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। उन्होंने बढ़ते हमलों और धमकियों के कारण अधिवक्ताओं की सुरक्षा अधिनियम को मजबूत करने के लिए सरकार से आग्रह करते हुए एक ज्ञापन सौंपा। वकीलों ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि अपर्याप्त सुरक्षा उनके पेशेवर कर्तव्यों में बाधा डालती है। उन्होंने वकीलों पर हमलों को गैर-जमानती अपराध बनाने और त्वरित सुनवाई के लिए विशेष अदालतों की स्थापना की मांग की। एसोसिएशन ने सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए सभी अदालतों में मेटल डिटेक्टर और सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगाने का भी अनुरोध किया।
