US Woman Poisoned By Ex-Colleague For 18 Months, Spycam Caught Him

A California chemical engineer, David Xu, is seeking to dismiss his felony poisoning conviction after secretly administering cadmium to a colleague, Rong Yuan, for 18 months between 2017 and 2019. Yuan suffered severe health issues and nearly died before installing a spycam that captured Xu tampering with her water bottle. Xu pleaded no contest to poisoning charges after attempted murder charges were dropped. He was sentenced to two years probation and is now eligible for expungement.
