The Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar faction of Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama has criticised the Kerala government for reconstituting the Waqf Board, alleging the Sunni community lacks due representation. The faction's mouthpiece, 'Siraj', stated the government broke its assurance of fair representation. The previous board, formed in March, was dissolved despite having over four years left in its tenure, with a new nine-member board appointed. Leaders from the A P faction were excluded, sparking accusations of insult and neglect of the Sunni majority's contributions.
