Bombay HC Orders Election Commission To Restore Goa Family's Votes Within 10 Days

The Bombay High Court has sharply rebuked the Election Commission, ordering the restoration of six voters from Goa's St Cruz constituency whose names were deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The court refused to pause its order, giving the EC just 10 days to reinstate the family on the electoral rolls. Justices Valmiki Menezes and Amit Jamsandekar stated that the right to vote cannot be denied without a hearing, especially when Form 8 for a residence shift within the same constituency was correctly submitted.

बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग को कड़ी फटकार लगाई है। कोर्ट ने गोवा की सेंट क्रूज़ सीट के छह वोटर्स के नाम, जो स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) के दौरान हटा दिए गए थे, उन्हें बहाल करने का आदेश दिया है। कोर्ट ने अपने आदेश पर रोक लगाने से इनकार कर दिया और चुनाव आयोग को 10 दिन के अंदर परिवार को मतदाता सूची में फिर से शामिल करने का समय दिया है। जस्टिस वाल्मीकि मेनेजेस और अमित जमसंडेकर ने कहा कि सुनवाई के बिना वोट देने के अधिकार से वंचित नहीं किया जा सकता, खासकर तब जब उसी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र में निवास परिवर्तन के लिए फॉर्म 8 सही ढंग से जमा किया गया था।
