Austrian Paraglider Injured After Crashing Into Fields in Mandi

A 50-year-old Austrian paraglider pilot, Nicholas Thomas, was injured when his glider crashed in the Gumma area of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday. Strong winds reportedly caused him to lose control while flying solo from Bir Billing. He crash-landed in fields near Chhanang village, sustaining injuries to his back, legs, and shoulder. Locals assisted in carrying him on a stretcher to the nearest road for ambulance transport to Jogindernagar Civil Hospital.
