Syria's Ministry of Information has vehemently denied reports of secret talks between government representatives and Hezbollah held in Turkiye. Reuters had cited six sources, including Syrian officials and a US official, claiming the meeting occurred in September to de-escalate regional tensions. Both Syria and Turkiye have labelled the claims as false and baseless. The reported meeting aimed to address mutual hostility, with Syria assuring Hezbollah it would not intervene militarily in Lebanon. Syria also requested Hezbollah's help in stopping cross-border smuggling and dismantling sleeper cells within Syria.
