Police in Karnataka's Mandya district have arrested a 16-year-old girl for allegedly assisting her 23-year-old friend in murdering her grandmother. The victim, 55-year-old Mahadevamma, was found dead in her home on October 11. Investigators suspect the motive was the grandmother's objection to the friendship between the minor and the accused youth, Akash, who is currently absconding. The girl allegedly helped Akash plan and execute the murder, using a bedsheet and a scarf before strangling her with a rope. The crime surfaced after relatives noticed suspicious marks on the victim's neck.
