Britain's government has announced approximately $800 million in funding primarily aimed at addressing health and security risks posed by artificial intelligence. A significant portion will support a new biosecurity initiative, including a lab for detecting biological threats and developing pathogen countermeasures. Existing AI security efforts will receive additional funding, alongside investments in cyber defenses for critical infrastructure and the broader economy. Further allocations will boost AI research, robotics, autonomous systems, manufacturing, chip design, and public policy solutions, with some funds directed to regional mayors for local AI projects.
