Newly Found Bird-Like Dinosaur May Have Eaten Fruit
Times of India - India · india
Paleontologists have identified a new bird-like dinosaur species from the Cretaceous period, named Infernogallus jamesi. Fossils discovered in the Hell Creek Formation suggest this small, feathered dinosaur, weighing about 12 kilograms, was specially adapted to eat fruit. Its skull structure and chewing muscles indicate a specialised herbivorous diet, making it a strong candidate for a fruit-eating dinosaur. This discovery challenges previous assumptions about dinosaur diets and highlights the ongoing surprises from the Cretaceous period.
