He stated that constitutional justice is not confined to New Delhi, as high courts remain closely connected to the everyday realities and local grievances of the people. Justice Kant highlighted the Kerala High Court's pioneering role, including its early prohibition of smoking in public places and its contributions to appointing women judges to higher courts.

भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश जस्टिस सूर्य कांत ने केरल हाई कोर्ट के प्लेटिनम जुबली समारोह का उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि हाई कोर्ट संवैधानिक अधिकार के महत्वपूर्ण संस्थान हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि संवैधानिक न्याय सिर्फ नई दिल्ली तक सीमित नहीं है, क्योंकि हाई कोर्ट लोगों की रोज़मर्रा की हकीकतों और स्थानीय शिकायतों से करीब से जुड़े हुए हैं। जस्टिस कांत ने सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर धूम्रपान पर शुरुआती प्रतिबंध और उच्च न्यायालयों में महिला न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति में अपने योगदान सहित केरल हाई कोर्ट की अग्रणी भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला।
