Mumbai is leveraging Artificial Intelligence to combat littering with new smart cameras. These cameras can identify individuals discarding trash in public spaces and immediately issue warnings via loudspeakers. The initiative, launched by the BMC, aims to deter people from littering by making them aware they are being watched. The first AI camera has been installed in the G-North ward's Mahim area, targeting a known garbage vulnerable point. This technological approach seeks to maintain cleanliness in the city by providing instant alerts to offenders.
