TNSTC Driver Killed In Landslip On Mettupalayam-Coonoor Ghat Road

TNSTC bus driver was killed when his vehicle was caught in a landslide at Burliyar on the Mettupalayam-Coonoor ghat road. The incident occurred on the night of October 23rd and early morning of October 24th, 2026. The driver, identified as 55-year-old Janagaraj, was the sole occupant of the bus. The conductor sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Over 300 people, including tourists and schoolchildren, were stranded due to multiple landslips caused by extremely heavy rainfall in the region.

मेట్టుपालयम-कुन्नूर घाट रोड पर उर्लियार में भूस्खलन की चपेट में आने से TNSTC बस का चालक मारा गया। यह घटना 23 अक्टूबर की रात और 24 अक्टूबर 2026 की सुबह हुई। 55 वर्षीय जनगराज नामक चालक बस में अकेला था। कंडक्टर को चोटें आईं और उसे अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। क्षेत्र में अत्यधिक भारी बारिश के कारण हुए कई भूस्खलनों के चलते पर्यटक और स्कूली बच्चों सहित 300 से अधिक लोग फंसे हुए थे।
