19-Year-Old Woman Dies After Consuming Acid Amid Dowry Harassment Allegations

A 19-year-old woman, Kajal Mali, has died after allegedly consuming acid at her residence in Vadodara. Her family has accused her husband, Harshad Mali, of subjecting her to severe dowry-related harassment and demanding money after their marriage in April. The complaint states that Harshad also assaulted and threatened Kajal, who was sent back to her parents' home two months ago. She had returned to her husband's house during Navratri following community intervention. Her mother has filed a complaint against the husband under the Dowry Prohibition Act.

वडोदरा में अपने घर पर कथित तौर पर एसिड पीने के बाद 19 वर्षीय महिला, काजल माली की मौत हो गई है। उसके परिवार ने उसके पति, हर्षद माली पर अप्रैल में उनकी शादी के बाद दहेज से संबंधित गंभीर उत्पीड़न और पैसे की मांग करने का आरोप लगाया है। शिकायत में कहा गया है कि हर्षद ने काजल के साथ मारपीट और धमकी भी दी थी, जिसे दो महीने पहले उसके माता-पिता के घर भेज दिया गया था। नवरात्रि के दौरान सामुदायिक हस्तक्षेप के बाद वह अपने पति के घर लौटी थी। उसकी माँ ने दहेज निषेध अधिनियम के तहत पति के खिलाफ शिकायत दर्ज कराई है।
