Motorola Bets on Premium Phones Amid Rising Memory Costs in India
Business Standard · business
Motorola is focusing on premium smartphones in India as rising memory costs, driven by AI demand, push up overall device prices. The company reported that premium devices now constitute 50-55% of its Indian revenue, with its G series continuing to serve the affordable segment. Shivam Ranjan, Motorola's APAC marketing head, noted that while overall smartphone volume isn't growing, market value is increasing due to the premium segment. He also highlighted that financing options like no-cost EMIs are making higher-priced phones more accessible to consumers.
