UP Electoral Roll Errors: Officials Face Action After Voter Data Mismatch

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer has ordered legal action and removal from duty for officials responsible for errors in Pilibhit Sadar's electoral roll. A complaint alleged that Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers displayed details of other voters. The Congress party claimed 13,150 voters' names were changed without altering their EPIC numbers. The UP CEO's office confirmed discrepancies after an investigation and directed immediate rectification and legal action under the Representation of the People Act.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने पीलीभीत सदर की मतदाता सूची में गड़बड़ी के लिए जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कानूनी कार्रवाई और उन्हें पद से हटाने का आदेश दिया है। एक शिकायत में आरोप लगाया गया था कि मतदाता फोटो पहचान पत्र (EPIC) नंबरों में अन्य मतदाताओं का विवरण दिखाया गया था। कांग्रेस पार्टी ने दावा किया कि 13,150 मतदाताओं के नाम उनके EPIC नंबर बदले बिना बदल दिए गए थे। यूपी सीईओ के कार्यालय ने जांच के बाद विसंगतियों की पुष्टि की और जन प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम के तहत तत्काल सुधार और कानूनी कार्रवाई का निर्देश दिया।
