The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has endorsed FIFA President Gianni Infantino for another term, reversing a previous stance. AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa announced the support at an extraordinary congress in Tokyo, stating most of the 47 member confederations will back Infantino. This endorsement comes after the AFC previously called Infantino's actions a "fundamental breach of trust" regarding a scrapped investment plan. Infantino is seeking a fourth term, with the FIFA election scheduled for March and candidate nominations closing in November.
