NLC India to Establish 3200 MW Coal Power Plant in Odisha

NLC India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Odisha for the establishment of a 3200 MW ultra super-critical coal-based thermal power plant. The project represents a significant investment of ₹35,000 crore and is expected to create approximately 4,000 employment opportunities. Additionally, MoUs were signed for a coal gasification project and a beach sand mineral processing facility, involving investments of ₹2,000 crore and creating 500 jobs. These initiatives aim to bolster Odisha's power infrastructure and promote mineral-based industries.
