Times of India · india
The Karnataka High Court has ruled that a motor vehicle cannot be used as a weapon to intimidate law enforcement officers. Justice M Nagaprasanna dismissed a petition seeking to quash an attempt-to-murder case against a Bengaluru resident. The accused allegedly ran over a traffic police head constable during a drunken-driving check after being stopped. The court observed that expressions of arrogance, when followed by acts of violence, can constitute intimidation. The rule of law requires that such allegations be tested in trial.
