This directive follows a state government order aimed at preventing overcharging and billing disputes. Ward medical officers are instructed to check for prominent display of tariffs in visible locations. Health activists, however, claim these rules often remain unenforced on the ground, with little action taken against non-compliant hospitals. The PMC stated that action will be taken against any violations found during the inspections.
