Hindustan Times · environment

Delhi's air quality deteriorated significantly on Sunday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 196, the highest in over 82 days. At least 22 out of 43 monitoring stations recorded air quality in the 'poor' category. The India Meteorological Department forecasts no rain for the next week, contributing to the pollution. Officials attribute the rise in pollution to a lack of rain, low wind speeds, and local emissions. The AQI reading was the highest since July 13.
