The Supreme Court indicated on Wednesday that it may instruct courts not to grant bail to individuals arrested for orchestrating digital arrests to defraud senior citizens. A bench observed that victims of such cyber fraud, like an 81-year-old who lost ₹1.9 crore, should not be forced to travel to other states to depose. The court emphasized that the balance of convenience must favor victims of cyber fraud and digital arrest. The petitioner, accused of providing a mule account for illicit funds, withdrew her plea.
