He stated that while Uruguay plays with intensity until the end of the game, it is not due to toughness but rather their commitment to making matches difficult for opponents. Forlan, who replaced Marcelo Bielsa, has a contract until March 2027 and is also coaching the under-20 team. He expressed excitement about the possibility of Uruguay playing a match in their home country during the 2030 World Cup centenary.
