The arrest is linked to allegations of financial irregularities and misuse of UNESCO's name and logo. Sen's wife and his organization 'MassArt' are also under investigation for allegedly collecting ₹50-60 crore between 2022 and 2025 by selling passes for Durga Puja preview shows. The ED had previously conducted searches and seized documents related to the case.

पश्चिम बंगाल के पूर्व मंत्री और गायक इंद्रनील सेन को ईडी द्वारा पूछताछ के बाद कोलकाता पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। यह गिरफ्तारी वित्तीय अनियमितताओं और यूनेस्को के नाम और लोगो के दुरुपयोग के आरोपों से जुड़ी है। सेन की पत्नी और उनके संगठन 'मासआर्ट' भी 2022 और 2025 के बीच दुर्गा पूजा प्रीव्यू शो के पास बेचकर ₹50-60 करोड़ कथित तौर पर इकट्ठा करने के मामले में जांच के दायरे में हैं। ईडी ने पहले भी इस मामले से जुड़े दस्तावेजों की तलाशी ली थी और उन्हें जब्त किया था।
