T20 Cricket Faces Calls For Batters-Only Spectacle

Hindustan Times · sports

The recent India v West Indies T20I series ended prematurely due to rain, prompting discussions about the future of the format. While the series showcased aggressive batting with a high six-hitting rate, the damp conditions in Bengaluru highlighted potential issues. Suggestions to make T20 a "bowler-agnostic, six-hitting contest" include flatter pitches, smaller boundaries, and rule changes favouring batters. Some radical ideas proposed include underarm bowling, limiting pacers, and allowing batters multiple chances.
