The Bombay High Court has sentenced Jitendra Fakirchand Rana to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for his role in the 2011 murder of Keenan Santosh and Ruben Fernandes. The court upheld Rana's conviction but acquitted two other accused, Sunil Omprakash Both and Deepak Ishwar Omprakash Piwal, of murder charges, though their conviction for simple hurt and one-year sentence was maintained. The incident occurred when the victims confronted a group for passing lewd comments at their female friends. One of the four accused died during the appeal process.
